Prime Minister SUGA Yoshihide attended the Special Dialogue conference organized by the World Economic Forum (WEF) on October 14.
During the conference, after congratulatory remarks were shared on Prime Minister Suga’s electoral win, Suga stressed Japan’s international contribution to areas related to global health, rule-making for free and fair global-economy, advancing sustainable development goals (SDGs) and other global issues, a statement said.
Prime Minister Suga also offered a general review of prioritized government policies such as regulatory reform and promotion of digitalization.
Representatives of participating WEF members engaged in discussion with the prime minister while also expressing interest in Japan’s policies.
The WEF’s founder and executive chairman, Professor Klaus Schwab was present and highlighted his expectation that Japan will continue to take an active role within the international community, to work in tandem and help improve global economic struggles amidst COVID-19.
