The landmark Tokyo Tower illuminated with an “Infinity Diamond Veil,” a style of lighting used in winter toward the end of the year.
The orange heart symbol glitters toward the south giving hope for the new year.
Tokyo Tower’s website states that “there are 268 LED lights set up on 17 floors which can all be controlled individually and produce an endless range of light colors and patterns.”
In addition, the colours can change hourly and based on events, and seasonal themes.
It is known that the Tokyo Tower has two different light-ups, one being the “Infinity Diamond Veil” and the other, the “Landmark Light.”
The Landmark Light has both a summer variation and a winter one—”The light-up switches over to the winter version in early October every year,” Tokyo Tower’s website states.
The Tokyo Tower has gained recognition as an important Japanese monument for 61 years, doubling as both an observatory and communications tower.
The tower is 333 meters high, and offers a panoramic view from the special observatory that is 250 meters high.
