TOKYO: Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi confirmed with his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry, good bilateral relations and continued cooperation on many fronts.
In a telephone talk between the ministers on Dec. 28, Minister Motegi welcomed the progress of bilateral cooperation in various fields through high-level visits and dialogues, including the two visits of President El-Sisi and Minister Shoukry to Japan in 2019.
Minister Motegi also affirmed the smooth progress of symbolic projects between the two countries, such as the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) and cooperation in the education field, according to a statement issued in Tokyo by the foreign ministry.
In response, Minister Shoukry stated that he would like to strengthen the cooperative relationship, including economic relations with Japan.
The two ministers shared the view to continue closely working together in order to further enhance the bilateral relationship, the statement said.
