TOKYO: Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea theme parks will extend the hours they open daily on April 1, their operator, Oriental Land Co., said Monday.

Also, from the same date, the maximum daily limit for visitors to the two Disney parks in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo, will be boosted to 20,000 per park from 10,000 at present.

Both measures will be in place until April 18. Business hours and the visitor cap beyond that date are yet to be decided.

Currently, the two Disney parks are operating with shorter hours to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, opening at 10 am and closing at 7 pm

From April 1, Tokyo Disneyland will be open between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. and Tokyo DisneySea between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. The staggered closing times for the two parks reflect the operator’s aim to avoid causing congestion on public transportation.

The maximum daily limit for visitors to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea was raised to 10,000 per park from 5,000 only on Monday.
