TOKYO: The official logo for this year’s 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Qatar has been selected from among 140 entries through consultations between the governments of Japan and the State of Qatar.

 The logo will be used in commemorative events to be held throughout the year in both countries.

 Ms. Aljazy Ali Al-Ali, who lives in Qatar, is the creator of the winning logo, the foreign ministry in Tokyo said.

The logo represents the long-term friendship between Japan and Qatar through the rising sun, symbolizing Japan, and the traditional sailboat, representing the spirit and cultural heritage of Qatar.
