Tokyo confirmed 313 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, the sixth straight day above 300 and up 57 from a week before.

The seven-day average of new cases in the Japanese capital rose 16.6 pct from a week before to 351.

 Sunday’s new cases included 88 in their 20s, 47 in their 50s and 43 in their 40s. People aged 65 or older accounted for 65.

There were 41 coronavirus patients with severe symptoms, down three from Saturday.
