TOKYO: Eiichiro Washio, Japan’s Deputy Foreign Minister, received a courtesy call from the Turkish Ambassador designate to Japan, Korkut Gungen, on Wednesday.

According to the ministry, Washio welcomed the appointment of Ambassador Gyungen and stated that Japan hopes to continue to strengthen bilateral relations with strategic partner Turkey.

In response, Ambassador Gyungen thanked him and stated that he would make efforts for the further development of bilateral relations.
