TOKYO: Japan’s Foreign Minister MOTEGI Toshimitsu issued a message extending his best wishes to all Muslims in Japan and around the world upon Eid Al-Fitr.

Motegi said in the message that Japan has steadily valued friendship and trust it built with Muslim countries even under difficult circumstances due to the pandemic of COVID-19.

“I myself contributed to the strengthening of relations in various fields such as politics, security, economy and culture by enhancing cooperation and coordination through meetings and multilateral conferences in Muslim countries as well as with Muslim foreign ministers last year. I am determined to maintain the close cooperation with Muslim countries in order to contribute to the regional and international peace, stability and prosperity,” the Japanese foreign minister said.
