Japan provides emergency aid to India to help tackle COVID-19

TOKYO: Japan provided India with 1,000 ventilators and 2,000 oxygen concentrators as part of an emergency assistance in response to the current surge of COVID-19 infections in that country.

Japan previously announced it would provide 1,800 ventilators and 2,800 oxygen concentrators to India and the above-mentioned ventilators and oxygen concentrators are a part of this package and completes the handover as planned.

Japan previously said it would provide grant assistance of up to $50 million to India, which has had nearly 30 million COVID cases resulting in the deaths of 377,031 people.
