On August 18 Japan’s foreign minister, MOTEGI Toshimitsu, visited Isaac Herzog, President of the State of Israel, as his Middle East tour continues.
During the talks Japan reiterated support for a two-state solution with Palestine, and the expectation for Israel to cooperate in offering assistance to Palestine.

Motegi “introduced Japan’s efforts such as “Corridor for Peace and Prosperity” initiative and the program which promotes exchanges between Israeli-Palestinian youths,” according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Motegi and Herzog also touched on other issues including Japan’s aim to achieve a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.
Congratulations were also exchanged regarding the successful completion of the Tokyo Olympics, as well as regarding President Herzog’s inauguration.
