Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, met foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud who is visiting Japan to attend the G20 Aichi-Nagoya Foreign Ministers Meeting.

Mr. Motegi stated that he extended his “Welcome to Japan, I am glad to meet you for the first time, I would like to cooperate for strengthening bilateral relations”. In response, Foreign Minister Faisal said, “Thanks for the welcome to Japan, bilateral relations with Japan are important, and we will continue to work together to develop them.”
The Ministers confirmed the cooperation towards the success of the G20 Aichi-Nagoya Foreign Ministers Meeting and next year's G20 Summit in Riyadh. They also agreed to further strengthen the relationship between the two countries through the framework of the Japan- Saudi Vision 2030.

The two ministers agreed to exchange opinions on the Middle East situation in light of growing tensions in the region and to work closely together to alleviate tension and stabilize the situation in the Middle East region.

In this regard, Minister Motegi said  “I commend the mediation efforts Saudi Arabia has made in stabilizing the situation in southern Yemen”.
