TOKYO: Constitutional Democratic Party leader Yukio Edano offered support on the campaign trail for Japan’s House of Representatives candidate Masako Okawara in the Tachikawa district of Tokyo on Saturday.

Following a brain clot seven months ago, Okawara’s leg and arm are paralyzed. She is the only wheelchair-bound candidate in the election and is favored to win her constituency.

Okawara calls herself an environmentalist and enjoys great support from the Japanese Communist Party and the Constitutional Democratic Party.

In front of a crowd of onlookers, Edano reiterated that the so-called Abenomics of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe only benefited big shareholders and that employees did not get richer.
