TOKYO: Japan decided to extend Emergency Grant Aid of 0.5 million US dollars in response to the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the republic of Belarus.

The aid will be provided through the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and it includes food, health service, shelter, non-food items as well as clothes and protection of those who wish to cross the border.

The foreign ministry in Tokyo said this aid is aimed to support those who are exposed to vulnerable situations in Belarus, especially in the border areas, which are neighboring EU countries, and to contribute to improving humanitarian conditions.
