Japan provides grant of $58,341 to Lebanon’s Dar Al Ajaza Al Islamia Hospital

Japan on Friday provided a $58,341 or ¥8,400,996 grant through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Program (GGP) to support the Dar Al Ajaza Al Islamia Hospital in Beirut, Lebanon.

Dar Al Ajaza Al Islamia Hospital has played a vital role in the provision of health-care services for both, the elderly and the most vulnerable.

The assistance will be directed towards the provision of an advanced database system, which will enable the hospital significantly enhance its performance through the ability to manage its patients in a more accurate and efficient manner.

The inauguration ceremony at Dar Al Ajaza Al Islamia Hospital was attended by Japan’s Ambassador to Lebanon Takeshi Okubo and the Hospital’s President of the Board of Trustees, Oussama Choucair.

The ceremony was launched with the national anthem of Japan and Lebanon, followed by congratulatory remarks and a tour of the facility.

In his speech, Ambassador Okubo commended the hospital’s long-standing contribution to serve the community and reiterated Japan’s keenness on supporting the health sector in Lebanon.

Choucair then thanked Japan for its continuous support, highlighting that Japan has been among the first countries to support the hospital during critical periods.
