New York: Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said Thursday that his country will provide 7 million dollars in emergency humanitarian aid to help recover Pakistan from devastating floods.

Kishida pledged the aid during a meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in New York.

The Japanese leader expressed gratitude over Pakistan’s support to help Japanese citizens leave Afghanistan since August last year.

Japan will continue to cooperate in ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan, Kishida said. Sharif said it is important to bring stability to Afghanistan.
