Tokyo reported 5,032 new coronavirus infection cases Thursday, down 3,818 from a week before.

The daily tally of deaths linked to COVID-19 in the Japanese capital stood at 12, while the seven-day average of new infections shrank 17.6 pct to 5,708.1.

The number of severely ill patients under Tokyo’s criteria stood at 15, up by one from Wednesday.
