Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said Sunday that his government will encourage Japanese companies to invest more in Egypt and nearby regions.
“We will aggressively help Japanese companies expand into Egypt, Africa and the Middle East,” Kishida said at a Japan-Egypt business forum gathering held at a hotel in Cairo.
He underlined the importance of working together for the development and prosperity of Japan and Egypt in both the public and private sectors.
Earlier on Sunday, Kishida visited the Grand Egyptian Museum, under construction near the three Great Pyramids of Giza close to Cairo with financial and technical support from Japan.
Accompanying Kishida during the visit, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly expressed his gratitude for Japan’s cooperation and called on Kishida to attend the opening ceremony of the museum.
