
DUBAI: France and Japan held a ‘2+2’ meeting to exchange views on bilateral security, defense cooperation and regional issues.
Japan’s Defense Minister HAMADA Yasukazu and Foreign Minister HAYASHI Yoshimasa held the meeting with France’s Minister for Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu and Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna via virtual conference.

According to Japan’s Ministry of Defense, France has recently strengthened its engagement to the Indo-Pacific region in a tangible manner, through deploying naval assets and conducting joint exercises.
Japan and France plan to actively cooperation to realize a “free and open Indo Pacific.”
