DUBAI: Oman’s health ministry has issued a licence to import the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech against the novel coronavirus, the state-run TV channel said on Tuesday.

Oman joins neighbors Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain in allowing the vaccine, which the companies have said is 95% effective in preventing illness.

The total COVID-19 cases in the country have reached 126,240 including 118048 recoveries and 1471 deaths, according to the ministry of health.
