The Japanese Ambassador to the UAE, ISOMATA Akio hosted a conferment ceremony on Thursday, in which Naser Al Tamimi, the Secretary General of UAE Judo Federation, was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays.

The ceremony, held at the Japanese Ambassador’s residence in Abu Dhabi, was a celebration of Al Tamimi’s significant contributions to the promotion of judo in the UAE, which were recognized by the Japanese Government in November 2022.

For over two decades, Al Tamimi has been a passionate advocate for judo in the UAE, and his unwavering dedication has enabled the sport to flourish in the country. Under his guidance, the UAE has sent judo athletes to every Olympic Game since 2008.
