Saudi Arabia’s Undersecretary for Political Affairs Ambassador Dr. Saud Bin Mohammed Al-Sati met with Japan’s Special Envoy for Peace in the Middle East UEMURA Tsukasa on Sunday.
The officials reviewed the recent developments in the Middle East region and agreed to cooperate to ease tensions.
Uemura was dispatched to the region as part of Japan’s various efforts “to calm down the situation surrounding Israel and Palestine as soon as possible and to improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip,” the Foreign Ministry said.
The envoy embarked on his visit on March 27 and visited Jordan, Saudi Arabia and will continue to the UAE and Qatar until April 3.
