The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi and Japanese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia YASUNARI Morino on Sunday discussed new avenues of cooperation.

The two officials spoke about ways to enhance relations between the two regions to achieve shared interests, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Secretary General Albudaiwi expressed optimism about concluding a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the GCC and Japan in the near future.

He also said the strong GCC-Japanese relations help boost collaboration across various sectors, such as economic, commercial and technological fields.

Albudaiwi said these efforts contribute to achieving sustainable development on both sides.
