




RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s foreign missions played hosts during the weekend to citizens and visitors celebrating the Kingdom’s Founding Day, reports from the Saudi Press Agency showed.
In Egypt, visual presentations on the history of the Saudi state and art performances were featured at the Saudi Embassy in Cairo, with Ambassador Saleh Al-Husseini leading the celebration.
The Saudi Embassy in the Kyrgyzstan also hosted celebrations at the National Historical Museum of Kyrgyzstan, attended by Saudi Ambassador Ibrahim bin Radi Al-Radi, several Kyrgyz officials, heads of diplomatic missions, media representatives, and mission staff.
The ceremony featured a variety of activities, including a photo exhibition showcasing the Kingdom, a film highlighting its historical and cultural richness, and a pavilion dedicated to Arabic calligraphy, falcons, Saudi coffee, fashion, and traditional Saudi cuisine.
In London, the cultural attaché at the Saudi Embassy hosted the celebration titled “The Day We Started.”
Students from across the United Kingdom participated in the event, which featured an exhibition highlighting Saudi Arabia’s historical and cultural heritage. Displays included paintings and traditional crafts, SPA said.
A dedicated section showcased Saudi heritage, featuring traditional artifacts accompanied by explanations of local customs and distinctive clothing from different regions of Saudi Arabia. A presentation on Saudi coffee, along with other activities and competitions for children, concluded the celebration.
Saudi Arabia declared February 22 an official date in observance of Saudi Founding Day. It dates back to three centuries ago, when the first Saudi state was established in 1727 during the leadership of Imam Muhammad bin Saud.
