RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting long-term, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth that includes all segments of society and preserves environmental balance on Tuesday.
Speaking at the inaugural ASEAN-GCC-China Trilateral Summit, Prince Faisal bin Farhan said: “We seek to accelerate the transition to low-carbon, clean, and renewable energy, and to leverage China’s Belt and Road Initiative to support regional connectivity and integration between ASEAN and GCC countries.”
He added: “We also seek to develop the digital economy by empowering startups, expanding public-private partnerships, and enhancing exchange programs between nations to build resilient economies that foster innovation and inclusiveness.”
Prince Faisal explained that the Kingdom, through its Vision 2030 reform program, was committed to fostering an attractive investment environment, facilitating trade, and removing obstacles to commercial exchange.
The Kingdom looked forward to expanding cooperation in all vital areas of common interest between the countries participating in the summit, with the aim of building a long-term strategic partnership that benefits their peoples and strengthens their standing in the international community, the minister said.
Speaking about international issues of interest, Prince Faisal said the Kingdom emphasized the need for collective action to achieve a just and comprehensive solution that guarantees the rights of the Palestinian people in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
“We also share your desire and readiness to make every possible effort to stop the war and reach a sustainable and peaceful solution in Ukraine,” Prince Faisal added.
