RIYADH: Saudi Arabia announced seven new deaths from the COVID-19 virus and 1,344 new cases of the disease on Friday.

Of the new cases, 282 were recorded in Riyadh, 237 in Madinah, 207 in Makkah, 171 in Jubail and 124 in Jeddah.

The Ministry of Health said that 17 percent of the cases were Saudi citizens and 83 percent were not.

It added that 392 more patients had recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,555.

A total of 24,097 coronavirus cases have been recorded in the Kingdom so far and 169 people have died from the disease.
