RIYADH: Riyadh Airports Co. (RAC) has launched an “interactive analysis” project to monitor social distancing at King Khalid International Airport.

RAC bills the project as the first of its kind in Middle Eastern airports. It uses artificial intelligence software and machine learning technologies and aims to stop the spread of COVID-19 by ensuring social distancing is maintained all travelers in the airport.

It includes software that will instantly alert airport staff if areas are becoming too crowded.

The system has already been implemented in Terminal 5 of the airport.
