Thirty days are left for the submission of a research project proposal to the Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Award for Sports Research, which is an international research grant program targeted at sports research projects launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sport.
The Award aims to support rigorous, intellectually ambitious, and technically sound research that is relevant to the most pressing questions and compelling opportunities in sports through the financial support of scholarly work that develops new foundational knowledge or builds upon existing knowledge that may have a lasting impact on the sports discourse.
Researchers will be allowed to apply for funding of $80,000 to $120,000 to support their research, given that they provide a “Budget Justification” in line with the project timeline.
The award is one of the initiatives of the Quality of Life Program, operating under Vision 2030 and is overseen by the Leaders Development Institute, an educational institution that operates under the Ministry of Sports of Saudi Arabia and is committed to the development of the sports sector through education, research and innovation.
The grant recipients will be determined by an independent scientific committee entitled the International Academy of Sports Science and Technology based in the Olympic Capital, Lausanne, Switzerland.
Applicants can submit their research project proposal at any time in the open application time period, which started on October 4 and closes on Jan. 15, 2021.
Principal Investigators with a PhD or above in a related field from around the world are eligible to apply for the award, but research must be in English, respect the formatting outlined on the Leaders Development Institute website and related to one of the following three themes in the context of Saudi Arabia:
