  • The Saudi-Japanese relations have witnessed in recent years significant developments in various economic sectors, under the initiative of Saudi-Japan Vision 2030

Jazan Gov. Prince Mohammed bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz received the Japanese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Fumio Iwai, and his delegation to the region in his office on Monday.

The two parties held friendly discussions and talked about issues of common interest.

The Japanese Ambassador stressed that Japanese-Saudi relations are important, and extend for more than 65 years since the establishment of their diplomatic relations, during which they witnessed development in various political, cultural and economic fields.

Iwai also pointed out that the volume of trade between the two nations is on the rise, with Saudi exports to Japan amounting to about $33 billion USD, and Saudi imports from Japan amounting to about $4.1 billion USD.

The ambassador also praised the common vision the two countries share as well as the transformations the Kingdom is witnessing at various levels, including economic and development developments.

Iwai wished Saudi Arabia and its people further development, progress and prosperity, indicating that he would influence Japanese investors to visit Jazan and learn about investment opportunities in the region.

The meeting was also attended by the region’s undersecretary, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sakr, and the undersecretary for security affairs, Dr. Sultan Al-Qarzouh.

Jazan Chamber Chairman Khaled Al-Sayegh also praised the depth and distinction of Japan-Saudi relations and the fruitful cooperation they witness in various fields. He said he looked forward to strengthening the bond, especially at an investment level.

The Chairman of the Jazan Chamber gave a briefing on the roles played by the Jazan Chamber within the framework of its competencies and contributions to achieving the goals set by Vision 2030 and investment opportunities in the region.
