DUBAI: Japan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Fumio Iwai expressed his excitement for the upcoming football match between the Saudi’s Green Falcons and Japan’s Samurai Blue today.
In a tweet from the Japanese Embassy in Saudi, posted on Jan. 31, they said: “Tomorrow, February 1 at 1:10 pm, the football match between the Green Falcons and Samurai Blue will held in the final qualifiers for the World Cup 2022 in Doha. Our wishes that both teams qualify for the World Cup!”
Along with the tweet, a video of the Ambassador was also posted showing him kicking a football and expressing in Arabic how confident he is in both teams.

Many fans responded also voicing their enthusiasm to watch both teams play against each other.
Japan’s national soccer team coach Hajime Moriyasu also said on Monday that he believes his team will face “pressure” from their Saudi Arabia rivals in Tuesday’s crucial World Cup qualifier in Saitama.
