RIYADH: The General Directorate of Narcotics Control arrested a Yemeni national with 40 kg of hashish. The detainee was apprehended by border security, initial legal procedures were taken and he was referred to the public prosecution.

In March, security patrols in Khamis Mushayt arrested two foreigners in possession of 61.4 kgs of the narcotic khat.

In February, attempts to smuggle more than 1.2 million amphetamine tablets into the Kingdom were thwarted by authorities. SPA Riyadh Authorities arrested one person in Riyadh who was found in possession of more than 790,000 pills, while another individual was detained in Tabuk after 455,000 tablets were discovered during a raid carried out in cooperation with the General Directorate of Border Guard.
