DUBAI: Adult Swim, the programming block by the American cable channel Cartoon Network, has released the second trailer for the Japanese adaptation of its hit show Rick and Morty.

Created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, the award-winning show follows Rick Sanchez, a mad scientist, and his grandson Morty Smith as they go through adventures across different dimensions and realities.

The trailer, released on Tuesday, follows Sanchez contemplating life as he says, “Despite the fact there are an infinite number of paths available to us, we only get one life to pick from. It’s pretty dumb, huh?”

The Japanese adaptation, titled ‘Rick and Morty: The Anime,’ will welcome the return of the original creator, Harmon, with Yōhei Tadano voicing Sanchez and Keisuke Chiba as Smith. Both actors played the same parts in the Japanese-dubbed version of the show.

In Dec. 2023, the first trailer was released, in which Sanchez finds himself in a parallel universe while flying in space.

In July 2023, Adult Swim revealed the first look of the show during the San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC), where it was revealed that the show will be directed by “Tower of God” director Takashi Sano.

Sano shared, in a video shown at SDCC, that he tried to add a unique Japanese twist to his favorite parts of the show.

The show will premiere later this year on HBO Max and Adult Swim.
