DUBAI: Contemporary Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, known for his colorful floral designs, and French luxury brand Louis Vuitton collaborated to launch a re-edition of their previous collaboration to mark its 20th anniversary, featuring a campaign fronted by American award-winning actress Zendaya.

The two household names first collaborated in the early 2000s under the creative direction of Marc Jacobs. The new collection, which launched on Jan. 1, reimagines their Monogram Multicolor collection that debuted at the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2003 show and highlights Murakami joyful designs.

The collection also features various wallets, belts, and shoes.

The French brand started teasing the collaboration on social media with several photos and videos of Zendaya, who has been an ambassador of the brand since 2023. In the campaign, the actress is seen wearing items from the collection while interacting with Murakami’s characters.

To celebrate the launch of the collection, the French brand re-released anime-inspired short movies created by the Japanese artist.
