ABU DHABI: MG Motor Middle East partnered up with renowned Indonesian illustrator Hendry Prasetya to transform its newest MG ZS into a manga-inspired artwork during Abu Dhabi’s Middle East Film and Comic Con (MEFCC).
Known for his work on ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Robotech,’ the artist applied his signature Japanese style to the car, creating an eye-catching masterpiece.
The illustration took place live during MEFCC, as guests witnessed the artwork come to life. The final design showcases the unity of man and machine.
“I’ve illustrated on paper, screens, even walls but never a car,” the artist reflected on the artwork. “The MG ZS gave me a whole new kind of canvas. There’s something exciting about blending machinery with imagination.”
Junaid Bukhari, Marketing Director at MG Motor Middle East, commented on the event, saying, “Comic Con represents everything that MG stands for: energy, individuality, and bold imagination. It was the perfect platform for us to engage with a new generation of fans and drivers who value not just mobility, but creative expression.”
“Our collaboration with Prasetya and the presence of our latest models truly captured the spirit of the event. We look forward to continuing to merge culture and cars across the region,” he added.
Taking place from 18 to 20 April, MEFCC 2025 was a star-studded affair, welcoming anime legends such as Hideo Ishikawa, Kotono Mitsuishi, and Daiki Yamashita.
With nearly 35,000 attendees at this year’s event, MG Motor’s participation at MEFCC highlights its position as a youth-driven brand that is keen on connecting with new audiences.
