The new norm has become video calling for work meetings and friends’ catchup due to the coronavirus lockdowns currently in place in many countries around the world.

A few developers and productions studios have prepared backgrounds from different anime series and video games.

Some of the backdrops include scenery from Final Fantasy VII Remake, Pokémon, Evangelion, One Piece, Naruto, Bleach and more. The settings are available on Zoom, Skype and Microsoft Teams.

Some standouts include Square Enix‘s looks at Tifa’s bar, 7th Heaven and the Wall Market, along with SEGA‘s realistic landscapes taken from the Yakuza game franchise.

Studio Ghibli has also offered some backgrounds for fans around the world to use during their video conferences.

The backdrop options include scenes from films such as: Princess Mononoke, Howl’s Moving Castle, Ponyo, Spirited Away and Laputa: Castle in the Sky. All the backgrounds are free to use, but cannot be used for commercial purposes.
