Since Studio Ghibli’s temporary shutdown due to the spread of the coronavirus around the world, the Japanese animation studio has come up with different ways to keep fans entertained. Most recently, they have started to offer virtual tours of the Studio Ghibli museum through a YouTube channel specifically set up for the tours.

The museum does not usually allow visitors to take pictures of videos once they are inside the building, which makes the virtual tour a rare opportunity for fans to explore Studio Ghibli from their own homes.

The gallery, which was set to reopen at the end of April, has several videos on YouTube which show off the building’s main entrance as well as the exhibition room.

The exhibition room is where “the movie is born,” according to the Studio Ghibli museum. It is filled with artwork from various popular animations.

Another video on the channel shows the ‘Space of Wonder’ room, which is covered in a painting with a smiling sun in the center and trees stretching up towards the sky. It also shows Kiki on a broom and Nausicaä on her jet glider.

The string of videos is part of an ongoing series on Studio Ghibli’s YouTube channel, in efforts to keep the museum’s doors open.
