Naruto writer and manga artist, Masashi Kishimoto, is making a comeback by taking over for the Naruto sequel: Boruto: Naruto Next Generations years after its launch.

In 2014, the Naruto manga series bid fans farewell, as did its creator Kishimoto, who then went on to create the Boruto animated movie.

It was revealed that Kishimoto will transition from his role as Editorial Supervisor for the Boruto manga to writer, beginning from chapter 52 onwards. This comes after Kishimoto finalized work on his manga series Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru in March.

An official tweet was posted thanking the manga’s contributors including former author Ukyo Kodachi, and illustrator Mikio Ikemoto for their efforts.

Kishimoto’s chapter will be promoted and sold via V Jump,’ a Japanese manga magazine, on Nov. 21.

Many fans took to twitter to offer their playful take on the news using scenes from the Naruto anime series.
