Resi Stay Nishiki, a hotel located in Kyoto, are offering a stay that differs from the usual by allowing guests to check into a room inspired by Japan’s Hello Kitty.
Nestled inside one of Kyoto’s many machiya’s, a traditional and historical Japanese wooden house, guests will surely take note of the many Hello Kitty embellishments present in the room.
Four guests can fit in the room, that includes both a kitchenette and bathroom adorned with Hello Kitty illustrations, with rates at ¥19,545 ($188.40) per person.
The room has many architectural elements that are quintessentially Japanese, including the sliding doors called fusuma also decorated with Hello Kitty prints.
Illustrations of Hello Kitty dressed as an apprentice geisha can be found on the wall.
The room’s brown carpeting is decorated with bows representative of the kawaii character, and the bed headboards take the shape of Hello Kitty’s head.
On Resi Stay’s website they state that they offer “an accommodation where you can stay over like you live in Kyoto. We offer rooms ranging from for a single room to large rooms for a group of people to stay.”
Their Nishiki accommodation offers four rooms, and is located just minutes away from the Nishiki Market, lined with shops and restaurants.
Their official website stresses that the building “has preserved many of its traditional architectural features giving it a true Japanese feel,” but still includes new appliance for comfort.
