DUBAI: Nintendo might be releasing a new version of its popular Switch console, according to Bloomberg.
Sources said the upgraded Switch could be released by September or October. The improved device will apparently have a 7-inch Samsung OLED screen for better graphics.
Bloomberg reported that an official announcement is expected before the E3 gaming convention, taking place on Jun 12-15.
The new console will be priced higher than the current model, and it will use new Nvidia chips to achieve 4k video.
The outlet reported that Nintendo remains confident that it can meet the demand for the new Switch consoles, despite an ongoing chip shortage that has been impaired by COVID-19.
Several major tech companies addressed the shortage, saying it may continue for years to come.
