Japanese animation studio Toei Animation have showcased the first teaser trailer and poster for the new “Slam Dunk movie project” which is set to be released in Fall 2022.

Slam Dunk Manga Creator Takehiko Inoue is personally directing and writing the script for the upcoming film. Other staff members included in the production of the movie include Yasuyuki Ebara, who is the animation director and character designer as well as several technical directors such as, Katsuhiko Kitada, Naoki Miyahara and Yū Kamatani.
Additionally, Daiki Nakazawa is directing the Computer-Generated Imagery (CG, Yūta Ogura is producing the CG. While the art within the movie is directed by Kazuo Ogura and the sound is being directed by Yota Tsuruoka along with Koji Kasamatsu.
Takehiko Inoue published his iconic sports manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1990 to 1996 for a total of 31 volumes. The manga inspired an anime television series in 1993, which received four anime film sequels.
The story is described as follows “Hanamichi Sakuragi is a delinquent with a long history of getting dumped by girls. After enrolling in Shohoku High School, Hanamichi becomes interested in a girl named Haruko who loves the game of basketball.”
