DUBAI: Fukuoka city will be home to the new life-sized Gundam in Japan. The RX-93 Nu Gundam will be featured at the Mitsui Shopping Park Lalaport, which is scheduled to open in the city’s Hakata Ward.
The RX-93 Nu Gundam was the hero in 1988’s Char’s Counterattack, the first original anime film of the franchise.
The statue’s designer Yutaka Izubuchi ensured to show off the robot’s evolution from the original Mobile Suit Gundam RX-78-2.
The new Gundam will be the tallest model, standing at approximately 65.6 feet (20 meters.) The statue will also feature a long-range Fin Funnel, remote weapon unique to Gundam.
The RX-93 Nu Gundam will debut in spring 2022.
