DUBAI: A giant statue of world-renowned Japanese artist Takashi Murakami is on display at Qatar’s Place Vendome Mall, giving visitors a close up of Murakami.

The life-like statue was put up on display on Nov. 8. Murakami is one of the world’s most coveted artists, and is especially known for his anime-inspired superflat art.

Japan’s Ambassador to Qatar Satoshi Maeda and his wife visited the exhibition on Wednesday where Murakami was in-person presenting the huge work of art.

During a panel session, Murakami also presented his acclaimed public works from both Qatar and abroad.
