The exhibition has been held every year since 1976 and attracted around 20,000 visitors a day. They were there to visit the 2,500 companies from 60 countries and regions around the world, including Palestine and other Middle Eastern countries.
Companies representing Palestine included Al Rwad, for agricultural investment and international trade; Anabtawi Sweets; Haifa for Agricultural Marketing; and the Jordanian Palestinian Agricultural Products Marketing Co.
The themes of the exhibition include the promotion of Japanese food exports, maximizing business both in Japan and the rest of the world, the development and introduction of technology, the utilization of alternative foods and resources, and methods of food production.
There is an overseas exhibition zone with pavilions from around the world. Other themes included the evolution of refrigeration technology, and “alternative food” that is expanding from the perspective of sustainability. The “Organic & Wellness Zone” features health, beauty, gluten-free and vegan products.
The exhibition features the latest food trends, especially at the “New Products Plaza” where you can see products that have landed in Japan for the first time and products released within six months before and after the exhibition.
