
DUBAI: Japan’s Uniqlo owner Fast Retailing revealed on Wednesday it will increase full-time headquarters and sales staff’s pay by 11 percent.
According to the Financial Times, the largest Asian clothing retailer added that monthly salaries for new employees will also rise 10 per cent to ¥330,000 ($2,085) in order to attract new talent in Japan’s labor market.
Fast Retailing’s move comes as the Bank of Japan mulls further rate increase to keep up with inflation.
On Wednesday, Fast Retailing slumped 1.3 percent, ahead of its earnings presentation on Thursday.
