The world’s leading business event for future energy and sustainability, the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) hosted a Japanese pavilion to introduce environmental-friendly technologies from January 14 to 16.

The aim of the three-day summit, which took place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, was to promote innovation and investment and bring about a global transition to clean energy and lay down plans to build a sustainable future by attracting investors and providers of advanced energy solutions.

Drawing in over 30,000 visitors from around the world, WFES is a world-class future energy and sustainability event, with its role encompassing a drive to accelerate the global energy transition and align the efforts of industry leaders, policymakers, and startups.

The Japanese pavilion was organized by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI). It showcased six Japanese companies and their solutions in various areas, such as carbon recycling and water technology. METI Minister MUTO Yoshiharu visited the Japanese pavilion at WFES.

“The theme of the Japan Pavilion at WFES 2025 was ‘Solutions for Achieving Sustainable Society’ and there were six showcases of the latest technologies from leading companies to startups, related to carbon neutrality or JU-CAT(Japan-UAE Coordination Scheme for Advanced Technology) in particular, companies with strengths in AI technology and water technology are exhibiting this year,” said Naoharu Takata, Presenter Japan Pavilion.

“We were introducing the AI operation system that enables efficient operation of the LNG gas plant which is already supplied to ADNOC and an aviation operation system used by Etihad Airways. About the Water technology, three startup companies are exhibiting their unique solutions to the water shortage problems faced by the UAE and all over the world,” he added.

About the response and feedback from the people who visited the Japanese Pavilion at WFES 2025, Takata said, “These six exhibitors gave presentations on their technologies on daily basis during the event. Their presentations attracted a large audience as their latest technologies and proven case studies which are directly related to the challenges facing the UAE and the GCC countries. Some visitors also commented that they were able to gain a deeper understanding of the issues by receiving explanations from the respective experts at the booths of each company”.

The event wrapped up with over 100 sessions of essential industry content on transformative technologies and developments, complemented by key sustainable development and climate change conferences and hundreds of technologies and innovations on the exhibition floor.
