TOKYO: All Nippon Airways said Tuesday it will additionally cancel 776 domestic flights scheduled between Saturday to May 12, which includes the Golden Week holiday period.
The core unit of ANA Holdings Inc. will take the action due to weak demand following the government’s declaration of a third state of emergency over the novel coronavirus pandemic.
The state of emergency, which began Sunday, is set to run through May 11 in Tokyo and the western prefectures of Osaka, Kyoto, and Hyogo.
The flight operation rate is projected at 77 percent over the seven days through May 5, down from 81 percent in ANA’s business plan for fiscal 2020, and 60 percent for the whole of May, down from 63 percent.
