DUBAI: The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) participated at the UAE’s Arabian Travel Market (ATM) exhibition, which is running from 16-19 May in Dubai.

JNTO’s booth promotes tourism to Japan and wants to strengthen ties between the Middle East and Japan.

The organization will establish an office in Dubai as part of its strategic efforts to achieve the Japanese government’s goal of welcoming 60 million international visitors to Japan by 2030. It is the first such office by JNTO to open in the Middle East and will be a focal point for the organization’s promotional efforts in showcasing Japan as a preferred travel destination for residents in the region.

“Through our participation at such events as ATM 2021, we plan to strengthen our cooperation with the region’s airlines and travel agencies while raising interest in the Middle East for travel to Japan,” Executive Director of JNTO Dubai Preparation Office Tomoko Kikuchi said.

Other Asian countries participating at ATM 2021 include Indonesia, Malaysia and Maldives. Saui Arabia also holds a large exhibit at the event showcasing its biggest tourism attractions.
