
TOKYO: Trade ministers from the Group of Seven major countries will hold a meeting in Osaka Prefecture, western Japan, on Oct. 28-29, 2023, Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Yasutoshi Nishimura said Tuesday.
“I hope to lead the (G7) discussions,” Nishimura said at a press conference.
Establishing a free and fair economic order is likely to be among agenda issues at the meeting.
Nishimura also said that G7 trade ministers will meet online in April next year, ahead of the G7 summit to be held in the western Japan city of Hiroshima the following month.
The G7 groups Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States plus the European Union.
