Japan, Bahrain establish joint Trade and Investment Working Group

Japan and Bahrain exchanged documents regarding the establishment of a “Japan-Bahrain Trade and Investment Working Group” (Joint Working Group) on Wednesday, based on policy discussions between the two counties’ ministries of foreign affairs.

Officials from both sides were present, including NAGAOKA Kansuke, Director General of the Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Ahmed Mohamed Yusuf Al Doseri, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bahrain and Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry & Commerce of Bahrain.

According to a statement from Japan’s Foreign Ministry, the working group demonstrates the commitment of Japan and Bahrain to strengthen bilateral economic relations and deepen their longstanding partnership, and “is expected to provide an opportunity for both countries to take advantage of the abundant economic opportunities, expand trade and investment ties, and promote economic growth.”
