ABU DHABI: Boomah, UAE’s first owl cafe, celebrated its 4th anniversary on Feb. 2 with various public activities. 

“The occasion was truly special and memorable, as we had the honor of hosting esteemed guests such as Yamamura Machiko, the First Secretary and Head of Cultural Affairs and Public Relations in the Embassy of Japan,” said Mohammed Al Shehhi, owner of Boomah Café, to Arab News Japan.

“Having Machiko’s presence at our anniversary celebration was a great privilege for us. It not only highlighted the significance of our cafe but also reinforced the cultural exchange between Japan and our local community. We were delighted to have the opportunity to showcase our collaboration and affection with Japanese culture, which greatly influenced the concept of boomah,” he added. 

Michiyo Chiba, Sakura Cafe’s owner, and her sister were also present at the event. “They have always been very supportive of us, and we have recently started a collaboration with them at Boomah, where we serve their locally made date cheesecake and matcha latte to all owl lovers. Their evident support and presence at our celebration meant a lot to us,” said Al Shehhi.

The celebration was extremely successful and was met with positive feedback. “We are grateful for the support and encouragement we have received over the past four years, and we look forward to many more years of serving our community.”

Boomah Café is located in Abu Dhabi’s Al Seef Village Mall.
