The 3rd Riyadh Marathon, hosted by the Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA), was held on Saturday. A total of approximately 20,000 participants, both male and female, took part in this carnival-like atmosphere.
Many Japanese expats living in the capital city too participated in the 4km run which was specifically designed for kids, families, and beginners.
Apart from the full marathon there was also a 10km and half marathon.
Enhancing the festive spirit, the Marathon Village was open on February 9 and 10. Here, participants immersed themselves in fun, food, music, fitness activities, and more.
This premier event was supported by the Ministry of Sport, Quality of Life Program, and the Saudi Arabian Athletic Federation and it marked a significant milestone as the Kingdom’s third official full marathon that is looking forward for a third certification from the World Athletics Elite Road Race.
